"Metablobs"
Completed April 10, 2006

This is a test involving morphing metablob elements. The purpose was to achieve a fluid transition from one object into another without the laborious use of geometric morph targets.

  • A shiny blue abstract shape resembling a hand giving a thumbs-up hovers against a light blue background, conveying positivity and approval.
  • A shiny blue droplet hovers in mid-air against a light blue gradient background, casting a soft shadow below. The scene feels tranquil and minimalist.

This was achieved by animating metablob elements from one position into another while keeping their blob threshold within limits of one another. This results in an object constantly changing form without requiring geometric morph targets.
