"Cheese Flood"
Completed March 25, 2002

This was a short, in-studio test developed over the span of only two days. The premise was to recreate obstacles in 3D from a photograph, so as to have Realflow fluids interact realistically with them. The 3D objects also provided a basis from which to derive shadows, ambient occlusion and much more. Obviously, we couldn’t animate the 3D objects like the chair, table, etc, as they had to match the locked elements in the photograph but others, such as the bursting door, was added in 3D since it was not apparently visible in the original photograph.

  • Interior of a kitchen overtaken by sandy dunes, blending surreal elements with wooden beams, cabinets, and chairs, creating an otherworldly feeling.
  • A room is filled with an abundance of flowing, grain-like substance resembling sand, covering furniture and reaching up to the ceiling beams. A "REC" icon suggests a recording. The scene feels surreal and overwhelming.
