Firestone
"Signs"
Completed September 14, 1998

Firestone was a very graphic spot featuring an arrow darting about and narrowly swerving out of the way so as not to hit obstacles, thus promoting the traction on the tires. It was all done in 3D with the exception of the deer which was traditionally animated, mapped onto geometry for tracking purposes, and then rendered out.

  • A stylized black penguin silhouette stands poised on a black cliff against a textured yellow background, conveying a sense of adventure.
  • A black tire with a shiny silver rim is shown against a vibrant yellow, textured background. The "uni-T" logo is on the right side. The scene is clean and modern.

It was modeled and animated using Softimage, rendered with Mental Ray and I believe it was composited with After Effects.
