Riino

"Electric Rail System 3D Animation"

Completed January 5, 2022

Hatch Studios developed a 3D animated video showcasing the Riino electric rail system autonomous mining vehicle. Capable of climbing high-degree grades, it greatly cuts down ramp travel distances resulting in lower costs. Capable of 50 km/hour on inclines and 80 km/hour on flat surfaces, it is the fastest moving vehicle on a mine site. Check out the video to see all of it’s features and capabilities.

This project was developed with 3ds Max, rendered with Redshift 3D, and composited with After Effects. A completely dynamic train system was developed that would constrain itself to a path, thereby allowing the vehicle to accurately follow the rail system under any condition, incline or turn.

  • A sleek, automated mining train transports rocks along a curving track in a quarry. The rugged landscape and modern technology emphasize efficiency.
  • Robotic arm mucking attachment labeled "RIINO" on dark background, designed for continuous rock removal. Text reads "MUCKING ATTACHMENT, CONTINUOUS REMOVAL OF THE BLASTED ROCK."
