Quaker
"Crazybones"
Completed April 22, 1999

This spot was a 15 second add-on for another previously existing animated Capt’n Crunch spot. It was meant to promote the “Crazy Bones” toys which came in the package, so the idea was to show them in action.

This was accomplished through a combination of dramatic camera angles and a rigid body dynamics simulation using a custom plugin written by Colin Withers. This saved an immense amount of production time since animation didn’t have to be created for each individual character. This spot also featured interaction with some traditional animation at the end which was produced by Chuck Gammage Animation Studios.

This spot was modeled and animated with Softimage, rendered with Mental Ray, and composited with Discreet’s Flint.
